GridCal

Program for calculation of the internal resictance of lead-acid batteries

Theoretical Part

Separation into elementary cells

The fact that there is virtually no flow of electrolyte through the plates allows a separation of the battery into a periodic arrangement of identical elementary cells, each consisting of:

  • the negative grid,
  • half a negative plate,
  • electrolyte and separator,
  • half a positive plate,
  • the positive grid.

Thus, for our 3d model, it is sufficient to consider only an elementary cell. Their summation into the various battery types is a problem of algebra.
